JILL CRAIG, group general manager, investor relations, ANZ Banking Group Limited
Jill joined ANZ Banking Group Limited in April 2008. Before joining ANZ, Jill was at AMP Limited as Director, Investor Relations (January 2005 to April 2008) and has worked in various corporate affairs and investor relations roles for the past 11 years with companies including Publishing & Broadcasting Ltd (Head of Media & IR), David Jones (GM Corporate Affairs) and Lend Lease Corporation (Manager, Investor Relations).
Prior to her career in Corporate Affairs, for 13 years, Jill specialised in strategic marketing and communications roles primarily in the property industry for companies including Coles Myer, Lend Lease, Westfield and MEPC culminating in a role as National Marketing Manager for Coles Myer Properties. She has a Bachelor of Business (Communications) degree from QUT.
Jill was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in August 2007.
ANGUS GUTHRIE, investor relations manager, Origin Energy Limited
Angus has 25 years experience in the energy industry. Originally trained as a geophysicist, he has held various roles including technical evaluation of oil and gas exploration and development, project evaluation, management of exploration teams, gas commercialisation, corporate planning and investor relations.
After joining Boral Energy in 1994 he held a variety of roles before managing the strategic planning process for Origin through the demerger of Boral and Origin Energy in 2000. He has been closely connected to Origin's strategic positioning in the deregulating energy markets of Eastern Australia since the late 1990's.
He has headed up Origin's investor relations program since 2001, as the company has grown from a market capitalisation of less than $2 billion to around $13 billion. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree, an MBA, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC).
Angus was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in January 2009.
JOHN HOBSON, head of investor relations, AGL Energy Limited (CHAIRMAN AIRA)
John joined AGL Energy in September 2009 after founding Andromeda Partners Limited, a specialised investor relations and corporate affairs consulting business.
John’s financial markets experience covered 18 years as an equity analyst and fund manager in Australia, Hong Kong and New York. He was based in Hong Kong for five years where he headed the Asian equity financial research teams at Morgan Stanley and then Credit Suisse before consulting to Macquarie Group.
Upon returning to Australia, John headed up investor relations at Brambles Limited for four and half years and then Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group.
John joined to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in December 2006 and was appointed as its Chair in December 2009.
ALEXANDRA JOHNSON, head of investor relations, Air New Zealand Limited
Alexandra is based in Auckland and heads up investor relations at Air New Zealand Limited. Prior to joining Air New Zealand, she worked as an investor relations consultant for five years across a range of sectors in both London and Sydney.
She holds a double degree in Law and Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and holds a Certificate in Investor Relations from the UK IR Society.
Alexandra was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in July 2008.
JOHANNA KEATING, head of investor relations & marketing, ING
Johanna currently oversee's ING Real Estate Investment Management Australia and has been acting as a consultant in the REIT industry focussing on investor relations processes and support.
She was at Stockland, a top 30 listed company, for 8 years, most recently in the capacity of Executive General Manager, Corporate Affairs. Johanna was responsible for overseeing external relationships with the media and investment community as well as external communication documents and global Real Estate marketing initiatives in Australia. She was also responsible for brand and customer relationship management and government relations.
Johanna has over 20 years experience in the property and finance industries, working in a variety of research roles in real estate and financial markets.
Johanna was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in August 2007.
MIKE LYNN, vice president, investor relations, Woodside Petroleum Limited
Graduating from Sydney University in 1977, Mike has over 20 years geotechnical experience with Exploration and Production companies such as Esso Australia, Pancontinental Petroleum, Auspet and Petroleum Securities. During this time he has also worked as a consultant to the oil and gas industry.
Commencing in 1996 Mike gained over 6 years experience in financial markets by joining stockbroking firm Prudential Bache and later BNP Paribas as an energy research analyst.
In December 2002 Mike joined Woodside to head up their Investor Relations Group.
Mike was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in December 2006.
IAN MATHESON, chief executive officer, Australasian Investor Relations Association
Ian is the Chief Executive Officer of AIRA. Ian was former Global Head of Computershare Analytics, the investor relations and market intelligence arm of Computershare Ltd. Prior to this he was a Partner at Orient Capital Pty Ltd, and prior to that the Executive Director of the Australian Investment Managers' Association. He has also held senior positions at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Westpac Banking Corporation and was an Advisor to the Hon. Alexander Downer MP.
Ian is a founding director of the Australasian Investor Relations Association. He was a founding director of the International Corporate Governance Network, based in London; is a member of the Editorial Board of Corporate Governance: An International Review; and, a member of the Advisory Board of the National Institute for Governance at the University of Canberra. He is also a member of the National Investor Relations Institute in the United States, a Fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia and the current chairman of the Global Investor Relations Network (GIRN).
JOHN MURRAY, executive general manager, corporate affairs, Amcor Limited
John joined Amcor in April 1999 after three years as Investor Relations Manager with National Mutual Holdings and eight years as an Analyst for National Mutual Funds Management.
Previous positions include eight years as a Chemical Engineer with Alfa-Laval and 18 months as an institutional dealer for stockbroker AC Goode. He was appointed General Manager, Corporate Affairs in April 1999.
John was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in October 2003.
DAVID SHIRER, executive general manager, corporate affairs, PaperlinX Limited
David joined PaperlinX in 2000. Prior to joining PaperlinX he was an Equities Analyst with Ord Minnett Securities NZ for six years.
Previous experience has included working in investor relations at Fletcher Challenge Ltd and 10 years in the fishing industry.
David was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in March 2004.
MICHAEL WEIR, corporate affairs & investor relations manager, Gindalbie Metals Limited
Michael has spent almost 20 years in business journalism and corporate public relations, developing extensive communications experience in the Australian financial markets and resources sector.
He is a former multi award-winning business journalist and most recently spent more than a decade as a Senior Business Reporter with The West Australian. During that time he was also the presenter of The Mining and Money Show program on the mining radio network RedFM and wrote for several mining industry related publications.
In the 1990s he spent three-and-a-half years as a partner in a corporate communications consultancy specialising in financial public relations for ASX-listed companies, particularly in the resources sector.
Michael was appointed to the Board of the Australasian Investor Relations Association in January 2009.
