Diploma of Investor Relations Exam Information


ABOUT THE EXAM

Length: One hour
Type: Closed book
Method: Online

Questions: Multiple choice
 

Exam Content: All questions have been derived from the reference material and presentations distributed to each student throughout the course. Whilst questions for each exam will be selected randomly and may appear in any order, the four general categories question categories are as follows:

1.     Capital markets, Investors, Valuations
2.     Law
3.     Investor Relations
4.     Case Studies

Pass Mark:     70% (Candidates will be notified immediately on completing the exam of their result)

Fee:     $350 (includes one re-sit should it be required)

Exam Eligibility Criteria:   Only students who have completed the full 3 day Diploma of Investor Relations are eligible to sit this examination.

Students have 12 months from the date they attend the course to sit the exam.  Outside of that time students are required to undertake the full 3-day course again at their own cost.

Post Nominals:     On being awarded the AIRA Diploma of Investor Relations, candidates are able the use the post nominals DipInvRel.

2012 & 2013 EXAM DATES

Candidates must elect a date when enrolling to sit the exam and the exam can be completed at anytime between 8am and 8pm on the elected date. Future exam dates are as follows:

    • Wednesday, 5 December (enrolments required no later than 21 November 2012)
    • Wednesday, 6 February (enrolments required no later than 23 January 2013)
    • Thursday, 7 March (enrolments required no later than 21 Feburay 2013)
    • Wednesday, 27 March (enrolments required no later than 13 March 2013)
    • Tuesday, 16 April (enrolments required no later than 2 April 2013)
    • Wednesday, 15 May (enrolments required no later than 1 May 2013)
    • Wednesday, 19 June (enrolments required no later than 5 June 2013)
    • Friday, 12 July (enrolments required no later than 28 June 2013)
    • Thursday, 8 August (enrolments required no later than 25 July 2013)
    • Wednesday, 4 September (enrolments required no later than 21 August 2013)
    • Tuesday, 1 October (enrolments required no later than 17 Septembr 2013)
    • Friday, 18 October (enrolments required no later than 4 October 2013)
    • Wednesday, 13 November (enrolments required no later than 30 October 2013)

    Exam re-sit:    
    In the case that a candidate does not achieve the 70% pass mark, there is one exam re-sit allowed.  Candidates who are eligible to re-sit the exam will be invited to do so once a date has been set


    Where can I sit the exam?:    
    Candidates are able to choose a location of their choice to sit the exam. The only pre-requisites are as follows:

    • The computer must have both JavaScript and Java enabled on the browser, and
    • A nominated supervisor must be approved by AIRA.  To see eligibility criteria and the role of the supervisor please refer to the section "Appointment of Supervisor" on page 2 of the enrolment form.

    The process to follow:     

    Complete the enrolment form and return it to the AIRA Secretariat by fax on (02) 9872 9200.
    Enrolments MUST BE RECEVIED at least ten days prior to the assessment date.
    Once your enrolment has been received payment will be processed and an email sent confirming the enrolment.
    One week prior to the assessment date, AIRA will distribute a "Supervisors Kit" to all approved supervisors.  This kit contains information about:

    •     how to access the exam,
    •     the role of the supervisor,
    •     the terms and conditions in which the exam must be conducted, and
    •     materials that candidates are permitted to have access to whilst completing the exam.

    Should a nominated supervisor not meet the criteria as set out on page 2 of the enrolment form, candidates will be requested to nominate an alternate.
